There are many famous landmark buildings you can visit in Cardiff such as, St David’s Hall, Wales Millennium Centre, Llandaff Cathedral and the Cardiff Castle. The most popular tourist attraction is the Cardiff Castle which is located centrally in the City Centre. Cardiff has many other things for people to do, it has beautiful parks, historic shopping arcades, sports and music stadiums and excellent restaurants. The city also presents music festivals such as, The Cardiff Big Weekend Festival which happens each year in the City Centre. During this they have fairground rides and cultural events for children that is held at Cardiff Castle.
Music & Sports
The City is home to many music artists such as, Charlotte Church, Catatonia, Dave Edmunds and many more. Rock music has been popular in Cardiff since 1990 with bands such as, Super Furry Animals, Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers taking over the music scene today. Cardiff also has one of the oldest records shops in the world, Spillers records. This was established in the year 1894.
Sports in Cardiff is very popular. Between 2001 – 2006 hundreds of football and rugby league supporters from England visited Cardiff to see the FA Cup and the Rugby League Challenge Cup finals in the Millennium Stadium. Whether you wish to play or watch, Cardiff has facilities for everything.
